Persistent links or Permalinks are links to results lists, articles, or other content in subscription databases. The link will have a proxy or a code that acts as a proxy to indicate that it is a WSU subscription database. This prompts the user to log-in when trying to access the links.
Permalinks are especially helpful if you want to save a search of an individual article or post it in an online class. These links will only work for those who can already access WSU databases.
Locate Permalinks
Permalinks are found in different places in different databases. In many databases, such as EBSCO databases, the URL at the top of the page is a persistent link. In other cases, the permalink will be found somewhere else on the page and be labeled Permalink or Get Link, etc. See the FAQ: How do I find a persistent link in library databases for a few examples.
